What I bought this week.

As usual, I have gone to Zara today for my this week's shopping trip. I would like to share what I have got from them this week.

T shirt - AUD 29.95, I purchased this one last Friday but haven't got a chance to wear it so I listed it here as well. I don't think this T shirt is new stock, I have seen it from couple weeks ago but there was no size S in store so I skipped it. When I returned to Zara last Friday to pick out a jacket for my hubby and found this one in S has come back in stock so I picked it up. There is a tip about Zara, get it if you like it, at least for Zara stores in Australia. Their stock runs out quite fast and they don't normally go on sales. So if you are waiting for their discount, you will eventually find out they run out your size or run out of the style all together. I have missed couple things I liked and had to compromised to a larger size...

Bright Yellow Shirt AUD 49.95. I am not sure if this is new stock but I haven't seen it in store before. The loose fitted shirt is actually quite flattering on, it goes well with skinny jeans when I tuck the front in or it can go with boyfriend jeans to create the super layback style. Plus this bright colour is just so cheerful to look at so I had to grab it. I believe there is also a blue colour in this style, however, the blue is between royal blue and light blue, I am not quite sure about the colour so only took the yellow one.

Grey shirt AUD 59.95. I basically grabbed this one without even trying it on. In my mind, I can see myself wearing this with black skinny jeans or have a while loose fitted T shirt underneath and wear the shirt unbuttoned as a layer. To be honest, I am not even sure if this can turn out the way I want, but good thing about Zara is you have 30 days to refund/return the item if no damage. So if it doesn't quite fit my body I will take it back.

And I have also received the nail polishes I order from Ozsale literally 2 months ago. I have totally forgotten how much they costed, I think its roughly AUD 9 per set. The Caite brand usually costs around AUD 20 and is famous with their carvier finish polish so I decided to give it a go. I am not a fan of textured nail polish so only got the sparkling set and some normal colours. I will try one of the set for next week's nail. I will show the result on my instagram.

Please follow me on Instagram donnabunnyqueen to get daily updates on fashion, makeup and pictures of my beloved bunnies.

My Daily Makeup Brush

I wear makeup pretty much everyday, Sunday is possibly the only day I will stay makeup free if I stay at home. I respect people's opinions on natural beauty but it's just not for me. Makeup to me is a boost of my confidence, not because I don't have faith in my look, just everybody wants to look better. I am not showing a better look to anyone, I wear makeup for me and I feel good with it on.

That's a bit of off the topic, now I will show you what brush I use everyday for my daily makeup. I work in the office during the weekdays so dramatic makeup is not suitable. For a simple yet fresh look, I use below (from left to right) : Sigma Large Powder Brush F30. Sigma Tapered Blending Brush E40, sigma Eye Shading Brush E55, Sigma Large angled contour brush F40, ELF Powder Brush.

All these Sigma Brush are in the Mrs Bunny Set, (Bunny, right, I cannot say no to that). It also comes with some other brushes which I don't use on a daily bases and a travel case which can protect your brushes during travel)

I don't own any MAC Brush or any other high end brand brushes so cannot tell you the comparison but Sigma brushes are just good. The brush is super soft and I wash my brush every week, they are holding up really well, there is no shape change.

I have quite a lot of ELF Brushes, they are on the excellent price for what they are, all my ELF brushes are still holding up as well after multiple washes. If you are not sure whether you will invest in a set of pricier brushes, ELF is a good start. All their brushes are under AUD 5, and they do have Australian website for you to order from and from time to time they offer free shipping which is just simply better.

For the large powder brush, there is no need to explain what I use it for - apply setting powder/powder foundation. The brush is very dense so it only takes me few seconds to get powder all over my face. To apply powder evenly, I dab gently in stead of blend which may drag your foundation around your face.

Eyeshadow brush and blending brush are used as a set together, I apply the colour by the shadow brush to the place I want them to be on my eyelid and after that all is up for blending. Spend more time on the blending than the actual stacking on colour, you can tell how soft and natural your eyedshadows show on your eyes. It also save your eyeshadow.

The angle brush is just perfect for applying blushes, the size just fits my cheek. For blush, less is more, you want a little of colour to bring some life to your face not a sunburned looking face. So gently dab the blush on your cheek and slight drag upwards toward your ear will create the look of a natural flush.

I use the ELF brush as a foundation brush, it's surprising dense and it easily to dab the foundation into my skin. I don't like to use the traditional foundation brush for foundation as I noticed the marks on the face and it takes a lot longer time to achieve a perfect foundation look. But when I just dab the foundation on my clean face, the result is so natural and it lasts longer throughout the day as well.

These are just the examples on how I use the brushes for my daily makeup, I have other brushes as alternative when these are getting cleaned.

Little purchase from Priceline

I go Priceline pretty much every week to check out the deals and stock up the things I need if they are on special. Below are the things I purchased from Priceline today.

Neutrogena Handcream - This has to be one of their most popular products, the handcream is rich and moisturising. I think Neutrogena is having 20% off in Priceline this week, the handcream comes to be approx  AUD $5.50

New blush and bronzer/highlighter from Essense - I believe they are AUD $6.95 each. I have never tried them before and the colours look so pretty so I am now so excited to test them out tomorrow. The blush looks matte but the bronzer is more like a highlighter, it's very shimmery by the look of it and hardly to be used as a contour.

Mascara by Essense - they are AUD $4.95. The black I heart extreme is one of my all time favorite. It has the traditional big brush, it separates the lashes very well and the formula is just right, not dry and not wet, very easy to use and gives me tons of volume and length. My current one is drying out so I decided to get a new one to get ready. The tube looking volumizing mascara is new to me, I thought I would give it a try as I haven't used any mascara out of the tube like this. To be honest, the formula looks bit dry to me when I opened it, the brush is the traditional type but lot shorted than the I heart extreme one. Hopefully its good on the lashes. I will try to pair this with the I heart extreme and hope the result is good. I shall post a review with other products after I try it few times.

What I got from my parcel came from China

Phone cases. Both me and my hubby are using Iphone 5, I like changing phone cases to keep my phone look fresh and also it makes me happy when I see them. Phone is one of the things I touch most everyday so I like them to nicely decorated. The middle big one is my Ipad cover, my ipad is ipad 2.
As you might know, I love things with bunny print, so as you can see there are a lot of rabbit print case. The cases are in different price range from AUD2 - 15, the big lips case come in with a pearl looks chain as well, I guess you can carry them as a purse however I am not going to carry it by the chain as not sure about how durable the chain is. The last thing I want is breaking my phone.
I usually place an order on a Chinese website and consolidate the products at a packing and shipping service I have been using for years to send them as a box to Sydney. The new box just came in today so I thought I would share what I got in this box with you.

Some lounge wears, they are around AUD 20 per set. I tried one set today, it's quite comfortable and cute. The one I am wearing now has all the colourful bunny print on it.

Cute tins, they are around AUD 6-7 each. We have been liking tea lately. Don't get me wrong, I am a true coffee lover and cannot live one day without 2 of them. Having tea is just helping me to reduce the coffee intake and Camomile tea is also good to drink at night. I have green tea, English Breakfast and Camomile tea in these tins.

Cushion covers, they are AUD 8-10 each. My cushions are from Ikea, and I believe they are the large size ones. I have not been able to find any cute yet good quality covers in the shops so decided to give it a go online. These covers are in excellent quality. I have 2 cushions on the bed, now they are in the top green flower and pure green covers.

Other than these items, I also got some cute pens, a portable iphone charger and some other bits and pieces. Overall, I am happy with the purchase this time. The postage for 12kg box is approx AUD 120-130 by air express, it took 3 days from Shanghai to deliver to our door.

My Bunnies - Snowball and Batman

Today I want to introduce you my gorgeous bunnies - Snowball and Batman. They are both Mini Lop and both 8.5 months old.

I got Snowball when he was 6 weeks old and Batman when he was 13 weeks old. They live in the apartment with us since the day they joined our family, yes, they are indoor bunnies. I know what people would ask, and I can answer that. bunnies can be litter trained if you are patient enough. It didn't take me too long to train them, I put them in the empty bathroom (tile floor) with some rugs and observe where they choose to do their business (usually a certain corner) so I put a litter box with some hays in the box in the corner to encourage them to use the box. After couple weeks they successfully used the box, I moved them out in the living room and place the tray towards the wall, since there is scent in the tray so they keep using the tray even the place changed. However when they reached their teenage years (bunny age around 4 months), they started to sprinkle the room to mark their territory which did cause some trouble for me as the living room is fully carpeted. When they were around 6 months old, we decided to take them to desex, the procesure went smoothly and since then, they have been very well behaved, sticking to the litter tray again and a lot calmer and getting really close to each other. I can say desex might sound painful, but it is a necessary procesure for bunnies' physical and mental health and you will also notice the change between you and your bunny after desex, they are not aggressive at all.

My bunnies are free roaming in the living room, they have their own space where their food bowl and toys are lying around and they can organise them the way they like while they have enough room to run around and get their daily exercises. We have our living room bunny proofed so they are safe to wander around even when we are not home. Remind you, bunnies are very curious animals, they like to explore new regions, so whenever I leave the bedroom doors open, they will always find their way to push the door open and pay us a visit. We don't mind them coming in but they need to be under supervision as our rooms are not bunny proofed means there are cables lying on the ground which they would chew through and hurt themselves.

In Australia, bunnies are considered as exotic pets so there is no pet insurances for rabbits and the pet bills can be really expensive. So here I just want to say bunnies are not a rush purchased toy, they are living creatures who deserve a good life just as human. I personally don't think bunny is a good pet for children as rabbit is very fragile and need a lot of work to look after. So before you get a bunny, please consider it's a long time commitment and they might get sick and you need to be financially ready for the bills. They need a lot of attention,  leaving them in the hutch in the yard isn't a good option to have a happy and healthy bunny. Bunny needs a lot of work and time daily to take care of, fresh food, clean water, variety of veges and a lot of cleaning since their main food - hay needs to be swept away or vacuumed away all the time if you don't want your house like a farm room. Bunnies are extremely fragile, delicate care is required.

If you go through all of above and still are ready to get your very own bunny, please consider adopt. A lot of bunnies need a warm and caring home. As I said, they deserve a good life just like you and me, and they are the best companion you can have once they trust you and love you. Remember, trust and love from bunnies based on a long time communication. Also the best gift you can give your bunny is another bunny, you will never understand how much a bunny will love the one s/he lives with. Since we all have our own things and cannot company our buns 24/7, please consider having at least 2 bunnies so they will never be lonely.

My Makeup/Wardrobe Room Tour

I have recently organised some furnitures to be shipped from overseas and put up together for my makeup room. Below are some details of my room.

Little Bedside Table. I sold the bed which was originally in the room as it takes too much space and ordered one sofa bed in case someone needs to sleep over. I love this little table, it looks simple yet elegant, the bottom part holds my perfumes and body lotions. I also put couple of cute nail polish and Katy Perry Perfumes on the table top with the lamp as decorations.

I ordered this metal manikin so I can dress it for according to my mood any time to add as decoration for the room. Now it's my favorite part of the room - my makeup table, this little Victoria Style makeup table is my favorite part the only thing is it's a little small so the drawers cannot hold too much of my makeup. I have to store them elsewhere in the room.

Here is a look of the room from the door, I was there doing my nails. I have my desk, makeup table, sofa bed, some cabinet and my keyboard in the room. I love this room and am grateful for my husband who help me set up the room and make all my dreams come true.

What I bought this week?!

I went on my usual weekly trip to Zara shop and got these items this week.

From left to right: White T - AUD 29.95, Super Skinny Jeans - AUD 45.95, Dark Grey T - AUD 29.95.

I am usually a size 2 (AU Size 6 for Zara jeans) and all the jeans I got from Zara are fit perfectly including this one. I like to pair the skinny jeans with a slightly loose fitting T shirt, I either tuck the front of the T shirt in or just hang it loose. The outfit looks casual enough but also put together. I like to wear something like this in the office on Fridays. So even if I do go out in the evening, the outfit is suitable for a casual catch up with friends or relaxed the drinking session or a comfy movie night. I think I will wear the white T with this jeans this Friday. Follow my Instagram donnabunnyqueen for daily outfit/fotd pictures and my bunnies photos.

I go to gym 6 days a week, usually just go for a half an hour run and some light weight training. But recently I got hooked with Pilates and go twice a week with my hubby, I can tell I am getting stronger in the 5 weeks since I started. So I got below shorts from Lulu Lemon just to add a little bit colour and fashion into my workout sessions. I don't usual spurge on gym outfit as they don't usually last long after all these sweating and washing, but since its the EOFY sale time, I decided to give myself a little award. Both of the shorts are AUD 35 after discount, I think the original price for both of them was AUD 55. I was told the pink one can be worn both sides, but i am not sure if I will turn it inside out to wear the dark colour out since the pink is soo soo pretty. I probably won't just wear them for Pilates and Yoga, I might also run in them. I don't mind the running shorts, but they are kinda loose for me and I like the tight fitted shorts when I run.

These are the purchase I have done this week, every week I will try to post out the things I get, please come back for new posts. :)

Drugstore haul

I needed some lotions face cleanser so dropped in couple drugstores to get few things I needed and of course, something I didn't really need but wanted to try out. Here I will share the stuff I purchased and thoughts on the ones I have tried.

Picture 1 are the items I bought from Chemist Warehouse
From left to right: Kukui Oil Condition (AUD10 on special in Chemist Warehouse) - I believe this is a new collection for the brand. I don't normally splurge on shampoos which will go quickly so I normally will just purchase the conditioner to test out the brand. I will share my thoughts on this one after I try it.

Neutrogena facial cleanser (Approx AUD8) - I will soon run out the cleanser I use in the morning so decided to give this one a try. I don't need a harsh cleanser in the morning, and this looks like a gentle cleanser. I will tell you how I go with this one later.

Razer head - I don't think I need to explain much about this one. I use it because it comes with the soup on the head so suitable for a lazy person like me.

Swisse hair skin nail supplement (AUD10.90 - half price in chemist warehouse) - I always take some supplement for my hair skin and nail, not sure how much they really work, but I do believe I get stronger nails over the time.

Le Tan Gradual tan body lotion (AUD 6-7) - Since it's winter in Australia, I need some extra tan on my arms and legs as I still wear short sleeves and dresses in the colder season. I have been using the Garnier gradual tan lotion which I think works pretty wear. But decided to make a change this time. I shall let you know which one I like better.
 Picture 2 - Coles

From Left to Right: Dirty Work body scrub (AUD 7 -20% off in Coles) - I have heard good things about this brand but never tried, since Coles have some special on them so decided to give it a go. I believe the blue packaging is the original scent, but I am attracted to any nutty scent so picked up this Coconut one.

Dirty work body lotion (AUD 8-9 -20%off in Coles) - I don't need a body lotion, bought this one is just to try out the brand and also to match with the body scrub.

Garnier facial scrub (AUD 8-9 ) I think this one is on 20% or 30% off in Coles. I have some Skinfood facial scrub but haven't used it often enough. This Garnier one looks new to me and it says it boosts the tiring looking skin so cannot hold back. I used it first time last night, it's very gentle and the scent is amazing, it definitely smells like something you can drink. I will have to try few more time to have a better idea on it.
 Picture 3 -Priceline

From left to right :
Neutrogena foot cream (AUD 6 - 30% off in Priceline) - I believe I am running out the foot cream so needed to get more. Since there is some sort of discount I got two. I always use some foot cream, the reason I don't use body lotion on my feet is the body lotion is normally not heavy enough for feet especially in winter. The foot cream in bodyshop or Crabtree and Evelyn is just too expensive for what they are, if my skin is not that dry I usually am not spending $30 or more on a foot cream. This foot cream is nothing spectacular but it does the job.

Batiste Dry Shampoo (AUD 10.50 - 20% off in Priceline) - This is my must have, I go through a bottle in a week. This particular one gives my hair so much volume and holds throughout the day really well. i get compliment on my hair after I use this. I have tried other Batiste ones but they don't have the same effect I get from this one. Even they are bit much since I finish them so quickly but I swear by them and cannot live without them.

DKNY Saffiano Leather Small Crossbody handbag review

I have been thinking of getting a new weekend bag for a while. During the week, I usually have a bigger handbag can hold things I might need at work but on the weekend, all I need to carry with me are my driver license, my phone, some cash, credit card and a lipstick so I was looking for a compact bag which goes with most the weekend outfits I will wear.

So I went to David Jones yesterday and was hoping to find a bag not too expensive but looks nice. I ended up coming home with this DKNY Saffiano small crossbody bag. It was not on sale, the price is AUD 129.95. I was thinking of a black bag as it's easy to suit any colour but all they had in my local DJS was this DK grey and this particular one is the last one they had. Due to it's the last stock and was sitting on the shelf, I got a 10% off, the final price is AUD $116.75.  At the first I wasn't sure about the colour as this greenish grey, but the more I look at it, the more I like it. It is quite unique, since the green tone is very mild, it is also good to go with other colours.

There is a long chain and a short chain, both are adjustable. I think I will carry the bag by the long chain more. The length is just fine for my 163cm height, it will naturally hanging around my hip. There is no pocket inside of the bag but there is a small pocket at the back of the bag. I don't think I will put anything valuable in there as there is no zipper to secure the pocket.  The bag is in ideal size for me. It's simple so won't be out of date.

Now I cannot wait for the weekend so I can take it out :)

Tell me what your weekend bag is or your dream weekend bag is?
