Too faced Better than Sex Mascara Review/First Impression

All my old mascaras have dried out on me (and no I will never open more than one at the same time) so I was hunting for a good mascara to try.

I don't like to splurge on mascaras as they will soon be drying out or need to be replaced every couple months due to hygiene reason. Considering Lancome and Estee Lauder have bumped up their mascara price to nearly AUD$50!! I had looked for something around AUD $30 mark.

I have used other Too faced mascara in the past and had good experience so decided to give this a go. First of all, I am not sure about the name, I know they trying to be funny but... I don't know how you mean to compare makeup to sex?!!

The packaging is very nice, heavy and solid tube with the traditional brush. I can see there are a lot of fiber on the brush when pulled out.

However to be honest, it didn't reach my expectation. I have very short straight asian lashes and needed more lengthening and volume than what this has given me.

After one coat, I can see some length and volume but not dramatic enough for my liking. Don't say no mascara could do the job to Asian lashes, I have tried some drugstore ones that do the amazing job.

After two coats, I can go out of the door now! Definitely some volume there, but still not enough length.

I will finish the mascara, but will not repurchase. There are definitely other options in the same price range or lower can do better jobs on my lashes.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate it, but it just doesn't do what it claims for my lashes. I am sure it works for some people, but unfortunately I am not one of them...

Fun makeup videos for learning and getting better with makeup

I spend lots of time searching for new ways to improve my makeup skills and love watching videos online. There are some really good ones so Im keeping note below.

First for your eyes a Winged Eyeliner Tutorial that shows you how to quickly achieve a 'wing' on your eyes with a felt tip liner. Its quick and easy.

Second found a DIY 5 minute lip balm video that shows how you can make your own lip balm at home! Home made lip balm in your very own colours in under 5 minutes? With your own scent? Smells and looks good to me.

Third Im really into false eye lashes. I bought a few when I was in Japan last and I can't get enough. In the beginning its a struggle but getting to know how is easier with How to master applying false eyelashes video tutorial. Remember practice does make perfect!

Hope you enjoy these vids!

What I have used up this month (Empties in May)

I  think I must have started all these products around the same time or it's just coincidence I finished all of them in these few days. I am not good at sticking to a products I have been using, so when I have some empties, I am actually quite happy and feel it's an achievement.

1. Garnier Miraculous Oil - this one can be purchased from all drugstore or even supermarket, the RRP would be around AUD $8-10. This is a leave in oil you use after wash on towel dry/damp hair. I wash my hair everyday (I know it's not good for my hair but I go gym daily so have to clean up my hair after all the sweat). I use this oil after I towel dry my hair after wash, my hair is about shoulder length and now it's shorter, 1-2 pumps would be enough. I only use it on the tip of the hair, usually it's where you should put your hair products on. The root of your hair doesn't usually require too much extra products, too much oil will actually clot the pores or make your hair oily.

I don't particularly like this products, as i don't hate it but just don't see too much result after the whole bottle. It doesn't make my hair oily or anything but it's also not moisturising enough. I don't think I will repurchase this any time soon.

2. Loreal skin perfection serum - This is my HG products to use in the morning. It's my 2nd or 3rd bottle, I love this stuff. It makes my skin texture smooth and minimize the pores. I can see result after few days of use. And now I cannot live without it. I have just opened a new bottle.

3. Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser - This is one big bottle that lasted me months! I was so happy when I couldn't pump up stuff any more. I use this products at night after makeup remover for a deep clean. I don't see significant change after use and don't feel deep cleansed.. Although it does take off the oil and all the leftover makeup. I don't think I will repurchase this again.

4. Mor Argan Oil Hand Cream - I purchased mine from Myer while Mor is have 25% off on their product, it's around AUD $15. One mediocre handcream. The scent was ok, not the best I tried and my hands are very dry all the time and this definitely not rich enough. I sometimes have to reapply right after I applied some. I will not repurchase this one.

5. John Frieda Volume Spray - this is my 2nd bottle. I think since my hair now is shorter and thinner, it works better on my hair and builds up volume. When I had first bottle my hair was long and thick, this could not build up any volume at all. After I got my long Bob cuts, I decided to give it a go again and this time it actually worked and gives me nice volume without making my hair greasy. So I do recommend this if your hair is not too thick.

6. This pack of face sheet masks were purchased from Japan, there were 30 sheets in one pack, no individual packaging. I bought few of this type of packs, and this was not the best. The sheets don't contain enough serum and dries out after about 10mins you put it on. When I wear a sheet mask, I want to take my time and give enough time for my skin to relax not running to take it off as it seriously dried up on my face and absorbs water from my face instead!

No Will Not Buy Again

Zara Haul/Fashion Haul for Winter

I went for a little shopping at Zara today for some new winter outfit and below are what I picked up.

Little red dress. Simple and bold. The style is very simple, easy to pair with some black boots and chunky necklace and cross body bag for a weekend outfit or black heels and sheek handbag for an office attire.
The dress is also very affordable, great purchase.

Straight ripped jeans. These are not the total boyfriend jeans with loose fitted everything, they are very fitted on the hips with slight loose fitting on the legs.

It will look great with some white Tee or Graphic Tee , fitted leather jacket, sheek and comfortable.

Overall Dress. I am very into overall style this seaon, purchased few overall jeans and this awesome dress. It looks so cute on with some lose white Tee or strip Tee. The dress doesn't reach my knees (I'm 163cm and purchased this in Size S).

2 graphic Tees. Don't you just like what it says on these Tee, I love the bold confident words on these very comfortable loose cropped Tees. I can see myself wear them with the some boyfriend jeans for a very comfortable outfit for a shopping day outfit or brunch with friends outfit.

Salvatore Ferragamo Nolita Tote Review

After saving up for about 2 months, I finally paid off my Salvatore Ferragamo Nolita Tote and recived it in the mail today.

I have to say this bag is AMAAAAZING!

The size of the bag
15"W x 11 ½"H x 6"D. (Interior capacity: large.)
7 ½" strap drop.

Material of the bag
Calfskin leather.

The leather of the bag is so soft yet durable, I can see myself carring it for a long time.

The bag is actually smaller than I expected but I in fact LOVE the size. It's not too bulky, and not heavy in weight at all. It looks small but can hold a lot. I have everything I usually carry in a LV neverfull in it withou any problem.

Inside of the bag, there is one zip pocket at the back, I usually have my ID holder in it, there are also 2 small pockets without zipper, I can put my iphone 6 plus in it and just fits.

The handle isn't really long and I don't like how it is just under my armpit so I don't think I will carry it on my shoulder often.

It is just an amazing bag for any occasion, the black colour makes it so simple, elegant and easy to style with any outfit.

Estee Lauder Matte Perfecting Primer Review/First Impression

I received a $20 gift card from Myer last week so decided to purchase something usually don't go on discount.

I was in need for a makeup primer for a while, after cleaned out my makeup collection, all the old products were thrown away and I really only had one primer on hand which came in a gift pack from Priceline. Although I had no complain about the freebie, it's not my own choice, so I went ahead getting a new primer.

After reading all the good reviews of this Estee Lauder Matte perfecting primer, I decided to give it a go. The counter price here is AUD 48, although it's not cheap but with $20 gift card, I ended up paying $28 so not too bad.

There are 2 types of Primer at Estee Lauder, the Matte perfecting and Illuminating Perfecting Primer. I personally like a bit of matte finish for my makeup so got the matte one.

It's in this tube packaging like the maximum cover foundation. After using it for few days, I have to say so far I like it very much especially with my double wear maximum cover foundation. The finish is flawless, after few hours of wear, my face is still fresh and silky at touch. If you are wondering, I have combindation skin and usually my nose will start to get bit shiny and needs a little dab on the powder. But with this primer and foundation combo, it went so well for at least half day without any touchup.
After about 6 hours of wear, I can see my nose tip gets a little shiny but nothing major. I just use tissue or blotting paper to dab it off.

Usually I wear my makeup throughout the whole day, from 6.30 in the morning till 8.30 in the evening after gym. After all these hours and sweating, everything is holding up to place and I don't see anything running down my face or foundation moving around.

I have to say this combo is money well spent and I don't think I will ever change to anything else for my base makeup. These will definitely be my makeup staple.

If you are looking for a long lasting, flawless looking skin and decide to splurge on the base makeup, I highly recommend these products from Estee Lauder.

Online Shopping Haul/Fashion Haul part 3

Everybody needs to watch Big Hero 6, best animation movie! And Baymax is just the cutest health companion. With him printed on the baby pink T shirt, I just cannot say no. I would pair it with white ripped jeans of even white overall. This baby pink goes very well with light colour pants or shorts in hot days.

WHO doesn't like nutella?! With milk? I haven't thought about it before seeing the T shirt. The cute simple white T with Nutella jar is perfect top for a movie nightout. There is not much to say how to pair white T shirt, it goes with everything.

Now this jumper is everything, I love the sequin bulldog head on the side, it makes the simple black jumper superb. It will go perfectly with a pair of dark washed skinny jeans and cross body bag, warm, cute and sexy.

Again, Baymax face on a white T! Enough said...

I have no idea why my camera is doing weird things with these beautiful colour clothes. This long knit wear is in this cute baby pink, soft and cozy. I purchased it from boohoo.com. I will wear it with black tights and boots, some winter outfit is done!

Minty green knit wear, warm and practical and cute. Knit wear like this will go well with leggings or skinny jeans. I might try to style with light washed ripped jeans for some more relaxed weekend outfit.

Last 2 pieces are just simple and practical daily wear. They are so affordable and easy to style, I could totally wear with some mid length skirt and bright chunky necklace for a bright office attire.

Thanks for reading, please stay tuned for more items..

Online Shopping Haul/Fashion Haul part 2

This is the second part of my shopping haul and the items I am sharing with you are

Can anyone not scream how cute this T shirt is. I know it's just a simple grey T but the little dog with beanie is making it super cute. There is not much to say how to style a grey T, it goes perfectly well with a pair of skinny jeans.

This knitted top is from boohoo.com. I don't think the lighting is doing it justice, it's in this beautiful royal blue and so soft and comfortable. It goes well with black ripped jeans of tuck in some skinny denim with a big chunky silver necklace.

Who doesn't love unicorn, especially when it's on the loose fitted light grey T. It pairs well with white ripped jeans or black skinny denim to tuck in black combat boot, perfect Friday outfit.

I know this has been a list of grey T shirts, but this little bull dog is oh so cute with the mash sleeve, this little T can easily be dressed up or dressed down. I can style it with a pair of white shorts or sequin skirt for a nightout or pair with dark skinny jeans for a casual day time outfit.

This baby blue T shirt doesn't really show up its true colour in this lighting. This beautiful baby blue will be a perfect top for light washed skinny denim and white blazer. In the hotter days, I can definitely pair it with denim shorts and white cute sandles.

This outfit has been played out in the picture, white zebra print T with black loose fitted overall. It's light, comfortable and stylish. Overall is having a huge comeback this season and this is just a good example on how a simple top can go so well with overall. Pair this with a pair of sneakers or platform shoes with a bright colour crossbody handbag.

Thanks for you all for taking your timne reading.  Stay tuned and more items will come in the next few days.

Online Shopping Haul/Fashion Haul part 1

I have been planning to do a collective fashion haul for a while to show some of my recent purchases. Since the weather is getting cooler and I cannot wait for autumn and winter to really come so I can start to layer up some simple pieces to style cute outfits. The winter in Sydney Australia is definitely not the cold cold snowy winter, we have about 10C at night and 17C during the day as average for winter days, so T shirt, shirt are always wardrobe staples. They are so easy to layer, dress up and down and for any season.

I will separate the haul into few parts otherwise this will have to super long and hard to read and follow.

This cute sleeveless denim shirt is super soft and cute on, I am planning to wear it with some same tone denim jeans or overalls to get a denim on denim look, it will also go very well with some skinny white jeans or even distress white jeans.

This is actually the back of the black shirt, the front is just a normal button down shirt so I thought why not take picture of what attracted me buying it - the back. The shirt is soft and loose fitted, the zipper on the back is definitely the highlight of the shirt. I can see me wearing it with some black tights and brown boots or denim shorts on some hotter days. The boyfriend style shirts are so in this season. Simple and stylish.

These 2 polka dots shirts are the exactly same style in different colours. The are loose fitted with splits on each side. They are so easy to style, the polka dots makes the simple shirts super cute. I can definitely wear them with black tights, tuck in skinny jeans and some chunky necklace and a bright colour handbag to add some colour.

This simple sleeveless white shirt is essential to anyone's wardrobe, it can go with denim shorts, denim jeans, or even wear on top of bikini top, the sheer material makes it perfect in lot of outfits. I am planning to wear it with white overall and some gold chunky necklace with yellow tone bag for a bright winter day outfit.

This is super cute T shirt with sheep print doesn't really need much of an explanation. The material on the sheep is furry with some beats as pearl necklace makes the T standing out. As all the other white T shirt, this really goes with anything, easy to layer.

If you'd like to know where these items are from, please leave a comment, I would be more than happy to tell you where I purchased them from, they are super affordable.

I don't usually get satisfied with online purchases as sometimes they don't come as they were described online and I really don't like to hassle of exchanging them. But this time I am quite happy with what I have got so far.

Please check back in the next days, I have some more haul to come!
