Marc by Marc Jacobs Metropolitote Jerrie Rose Tote Review/FirstImpression

Today I received my first Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, Marc by Marc Jacobs Metropolitote Jerrie Rose tote.

This bag is so gorgeous, I love the shape of the tote and the flower print and this colour combination is just superb, the bright yellow makes me happy.

I have also placed an order for the other colour (I know...), the pink with green combination.

Here is some fact about this baby:

Measurements:

H 27cm, L 37cm, D 16cm and handle drop is 21cm so it should sit comfortably on your shoulder even if you are wearing some thicker jacket.

Material :

Some website is being very tricky on describe the exterior of the bag, the exterior of the bag is 100% PVC with cow leather trim.

Some sites describe it as canvas, faux leather ... all different ways to make it sound better. It is in fact PVC and to be honest, the bag is so soft and I see nothing wrong for it to be called for what it is, PVC.

The bag has flower print in the front with a teeny tiny pocket which can be used for maybe your travel card, I am not planning to use it for anything, there is an authenticity card in it and I will just leave it in there.

The back of the bag is strips with the same colour combination, which I adore. It's so much fun with a tote bag have 2 different prints on the front and bag.

I put it next to my LV Neverfull, it is the same size and just as soft if not softer. There is a little detachable zip around pouch come in the bag in this blue colour, it is so convinience to just have your important stuff in it as there is no other pocket in the bag.

Compare to my Michael Kors Jet large travel tote, this Marc by Marc Jacobs bag is so much soft and lighter in weight, the only downside of the bag is there is this plastic smell. I am now hoping it will go away after few days of use.

I cannot wait to carry it tomorrow to brighten up my Friday.

Here is a look of what's in my bag, I didn't change much from my last what's in my bag blog. Only difference I think it's my wallet, I changed to a Fendi wallet and the book, I am now on the 5th Jack Reacher book Echo Burning.. It's just as good as every other one i have read. The blue Mimco pouch has my pen and a notebook and the tin is for pads..(not much to say about that)

You can purchase this bag from David Jones if you'd like to see it in store but the retail price there is so much more expensive than online shops. If you are not in a rush, go through some online shops and you will find heaps competitive price for this bag and on some sites, the yellow colour is cheaper than the pink colour.

I purchased mine from Revolve.com, I believe it's an American online store, the shipping time is about 10 days from the order was despatched.

Thanks for taking your time reading. Please come and check my instagram tomorrow if you'd like to see how I carry it to match my outfit.

Embrace Autumn

I love summer, love the sun and that glass of cool sparkling wine in the sunshine. Love all those bright colour you could wear and those teeny tiny bikinies that make you confident.

After few months of the hot waves and some cold wet rainy days, I think I am now finally ready for autumn and cannot wait for the air to get cooler and wind to get chiller.

We can now start to pull out all these layers of clothes, coat and scarf to style everyway we are fond of.

All the dark, plumy lipsticks and nail polishes came out from the bottom of the drawers and began to shine as stars again.

The sun is still strong and warm, big chucky sunnies are always in trend.  No one said only dark colours belong to autumn, there always a bright super start in your whole outfit to brighten your day.

Priceline Perfume Haul, first impression/review and How I select perfume/fragrance

Priceline is having 50% off all perfume on 28/04 and 29/04, I surely didn't pass on this oppotunity and NO, I do not need any more fragrance.

I always find it's difficult to pick perfumes when there are so many options, after first few tries, I usually got numb and couldn't test any more.

My trick is usually I will do my research online, find out the price range and the basic scent knowledge so I will have targeted ones to try not everyone on the shelf.

These are the ones I came out with, for men's ones, the burberry one is the original classic one and Bvlgari scent is very woody which I think I might give it away as a gift.

The ones I got for myself are the Beyonce Rise Sheer which is a limit edition of her Rise, it contains some shimmer after you spray it on your skin. The scent is light and fresh.

I also got Guess Marciano Women. I tried Guess dare as well, it's very light and I hardly smell anything. Consider it's winter time in Australia, I needed, yea, needed some of the richer and heavier scent so got this Guess Marciano Women instead.

I would also like to explain a little bit more about the perfume, you will usually see different signs on the bottle/box of the perfume, these are the difference.

Eau De Parfum (EDP): It is lighter than Perfume, with an 8-15% concentration, but still has long lasting characteristics, from 3 to 5 hours. It is less expensive than pure perfume. Eau De Toilette (EDT): It is lighter than EDP, with a 4-8% concentration of the essence. It usually lasts for 2 to 4 hours.

Mini Jewellery Haul and Reivew (Marc by Marc Jacobs)

I was super excited when these babies came in the mail today. I don't usually splurge on dressy jewelleries but since there was this deal going on at David Jones, I decided to place an order to try out some of the Marc by Marc Jacobs jewellery.

I ordered the arrow necklace called Large Arrow Necklace in SILVER MIRROR, there is also a gold one. Since I own a lot of gold colour necklace so got this one in silver.

The pair of studs are the Bolt & Heart Studs and the earings are Upright Bow Tie Earrings in Knockout Pink, they also have these in bright orange colour.

I think I might end up giving the studs away as gift. Don't get me wrong, they are super cute, it's just because I don't usually wear studs.

These jewelleries are heavy weight and very well made, I can see myself wearing the necklace and earings quite often and they can go with a lot of casual outfit to add the bunch of colour or the weight to the whole outfit.

I don't know if I will spurge again on the higher end jewellery lines any time soon , it is simply because I tend to lose necklace and earings very easily.

My Outfit of the Day

It has been a while since last time I did an Outfit of the Day post, I thought since I have recently received an order from Boohoo.com and did some purchase in the shops for autumn and winter, I'd like to update the blog with a latest Outfit of the day post.

I purchased my T shirt dress from Sports girl at 50% further discount sales items for AUD 30. This beautiful army green colour just scream of fall and nicely fitted, (my one is in size xs). The pair of new sunglasses is from Boohoo.com. It seems this dress has sold out online so I was unable to find the link for you guys but the sunnies are still available at below link. I purchased them in both colours and love this oversized the sunnies to add some edges to the outfit. I added a chunky necklace to add some weight to the simple dress and everything just goes oh so well with my LV neverfull.

MAYA OVERSIZED TORTOISE SUNGLASSES

PS. The story of my Duffy Bear. As some of your Disney fans know, Duffy Bear is exclusively sold in Japan Disneysea which I only learnt after I got out from Japan Disneyland and tried to find it in the Disney store all over Japan and had no luck. Some of you girls know, it haunts you harder if you cannot get what you want, I had to order him from Disney website and impatiently waited for 2 weeks for him to arrive and turned out I filled out the address incorrectly and he got returned to sender!!! My meeting with Duffy has gone up to a new level and I ordered him second time online and eventually after a good 4-5 weeks after we returned from Japan to Sydney, I finally received him and since then, he has been going with me to work on multiple bags every day.

First Impression : Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation/Double Wear Maximum Cover Foundation

I have been thinking of purchasing Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation for couple months after heard so many good reviews about it. Eventually I have made up my mind and got one today. I purchased mine at Estee Lauder counter at my local David Jones and had a chance to try a few different shades as well as the maximum wear cover double wear foundation.

I have usual yellow undertone skin with some minor pimple scars and discolouration. I would say my skin is combination, which is very normal on my cheeks and slightly oily on the Tzone after few hours of wearing makeups.

The foundation I decided to get today is the Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover foundation with SPF15. This foundation is the one in the blue tube and RRP is AUD$50.

Here is the link for you to obtain more details about the product.

Double Wear Maximum Cover

The colour I picked up is Cream Vanilla/Medium. Before purchasing this, I tried out few shades from the normal Double Wear line which is the one in glass jar. I found the normal double wear has a slight drewy finish which I don't usually prefer. I tried on the back of my hand (my hand has the most perfect skin on my whole body) and it appears the shine straightaway after apply and I somehow find it emphasize the lines on my skin which I would not like at all if this is on my face. Then I requested to test the Maximum wear, the texture is completely different, a little goes a long way, it's super rich and covers the brown spot on my hand. It's thick but appears to be easy to blend with brush. It has the matte finish and I would say if it performs this good on my face I don't think I will be using any powder afterwards.

I have yet to test it on my face so I will have to revert back on how it lasts throughout the day. Please stay tuned.

Michael Kors Mini Selma Messenger Bag Review

Today I want to talk about the bag I recently purchased - Michael Kors Mini Selma Messenger in Black and White.

I think the first time I saw it was on Michael Kors Official Instagram and I instantly loved the print of the bag plus michael Kors Messenger bag is an iconic and classic product of theirs. Michaels Kors have this bag in lots of colours and prints, they also constantly bring out new prints for it.

The basics about it:

It comes with Detachable and adjustable shoulder strap
Michael Kors logo plaque to front
Top Zip closure
Pure Leather
H17.5cm x W21cm x D7cm Approx
3 Card holders

The Michael Kors bag comes in gold or silver hardware and this particular print is the one with the silver hardware. The Michael Kors logo is printed on the zipper and clips of the strap.

I had this bag 2 days ago and last night was the first time I carried it out. I have to say it is very light in weight, and crossbody strap is always a plus.

I use it as a weekend bag to go with most of my outfit, it definitely doesn't look big but my iphone 6 plus goes in comfortably and it can hold quite a lot of stuff for its size. The 3 card holder comes handy as well as you know, we need to carry ticket or cards, ID out most of the time.

I will have to say this bag goes with most of my outfits on weekend. If you are T shirt Ripped jeans type of girl, you will love this bag. The black and white print adds some dimension to your outfit but not overpowering or overcomplicated the whole outfit.

I now consider getting some other messenger bags in bright colours or army prints.

If you are living in Sydney Australia, Michael Kors counter can be found in Westfield Sydney CBD or selected David Jones store, however you do need to check the availability of the colour or print you like as I don't find them carry enough stock.

Otherwise, you can also find the bag

Macys
Nordstrom

I believe this bag runs approx AUD $240 if you purchase online based on current currency rate.

Hope this review helps you get a general idea on the bag to make a decision on buying/not buying the bag.

Thanks for reading.

Celebrating the new domain name bunrista.com

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to mentioned that Im moving my blog to bunrista.com. I initially thought of this when my silly partner wanted to open a cafe. We spoke about it for a moment and though what type of barista would we want working with us? Someone who likes bunnies of course.

This brought us to discussing the rabbit cafe in Japan, which we missed due to poor planning. I checked out some youtube videos of the bunny cafe and they are all so cute! I will definitely visit on my next trip to japan! So back to the name and after talking about the rabbit cafe I drew a bunny making a coffee. It was cuter than I expected so the name bunrista.com was born!

I hope to use this name in the future. So you can now bookmark bunrista.com the next time you want to visit my blog.

Thanks for your support!

Michael Kors Jet Set Travel Medium Travel Tote, a cheaper alternative for LV Neverfull MM?

Louis Vuitton Neverfulls are such classic/signature staples for our wardrobes, but the price of LV bags keep rising and we are all looking for some cheaper options for this handbag.

Today I would like to compare the Michael Kors Jet Travel Tote (medium) to the LV Neverfull MM.

Let's just put the statistics out :

LV Neverfull MM :

current price AUD $1450, 32 x 29 x 17 cm (Length x Height x Width) , it's a canvas on the outside and leather rims and handles.

Michael Kors Jet Travel Tote:

current price AUD $419, 28.5 x 38 x 15 cm (Length x Height x Width). It has been described as a hard textured leather as main material.

To me, these 2 bags are very similar in size with Michael Kors is slightly bigger.

Michael Kors bag has a lot more inside compartment inside for easy storage while LV NF only has one little flip back pocket which cannot fit my Iphone 6 plus..

Material wise, the LV bag is softer while MK bag holds in shape better because of the texture of the leather.

We all know LV bag has it's classic and well known designs but the MK bag also is quick simple and classic, with the shapes and sizes very similar, and MK only costs 1/3 of the LV, I do believe it's a very good cheaper alternative for a LV neverfull.

What are your thoughts??

Below I have a side by side comparison of the LV Neverfull and the Michael Kors Jet Set Travel Medium Travel Tote.

How to pack for a long weekend/short trip

I always find it's harder to pack for a short trip than a long holiday. We get big check-in luggage to hold more stuff for long holidays but might only be a carry-on or even a back pack for a couple days trip.

The most common mistakes we make when packing for a short trip is over packing, we think we need all these things for daily uses and end up with overweight luggages and might turn out most of the things we pack don't even get used during the trip.

To avoid over-packing, pre-organising is important. I just did packing for our 3 days trip to Brisbane (1.5 hours flight from Sydney) thought why not just share how I packed for this trip for some ideas.

1. Check the weather, knowing the temperature at destination is very important when packing for clothes. Brisbane is approx 28C these days so I packed couple T shirts, a pair of shorts, a pair of pants and a shirt in case it's cooler at night. Roll your clothes instead of folding them, save space and your clothes won't get wrinkled so easily. If they turn out to be wrinkled and you don't have an iron in the room? Hang them in the bathroom while you are having a shower, the steam will work wonders.

2. Have an idea on what occasions you will be attending at your destination and prepare outfit for each occasion, pack some items that can be worn in different ways/dress up or dress down will save a lot of space. We don't have any plan for this trip, so basically we will just hang around in the city and chill out. So I don't need any outfit that really dressy but I can definitely dress up the denim shorts with the black T and chunk necklace for a simple yet sheik look if we end up deciding to go some fancier restaurant or casino.

3. Wear the heavier things on the plane. This will definitely save the space in your luggage. So I will wear the ripped jeans with the chunky necklace and black T on the plane, they are comfortable enough and easy to style.

4. Pack the thongs and wear shoes. If you are staying in some self service apartment you know there usually are no slippers for you, so i like to bring a pair of thongs to wear in the room or run out for a quick coffee etc.. I know thongs can be comfortable to wear on an airplane but packing a pair of chunky heels is a no no for me. I will rather just wear the heels or boots on the plane consider it's a short flight and save the space in my luggage for some other things that cannot be worn. But since this time we are just relaxing, I am not preparing to wear heels anyway, will just wear a pair of flats which match both of my outfits.

5. Use your handbag. We all know lady's handbag is not counted in the carry on luggage, so why not use this to hold some stuff like phone charger, underwear etc.? I usually will bring a larger size handbag to hold these extra stuff. But please note a back pack isn't a handbag, so use a proper bag...

6. We can only carry 100ml liquid onto plane, 100ml!!! A small handcream bottle is 30ml!! So this is very easy to exceed. So the simple way is... buy shampoo and conditioner at destination...I know this is some extra spend, but a travel pack shampoo and conditioner cost $3 each, over weight cost $50 per kg at least or if you exceed the liquid limit, they will be taken away and you will still end up buying again.. trust me, they count the volume based on what says on the packaging, not how much actual content in a bottle. If you only have 1/5 of stuff in a 250ml bottle, they take it as 250ml.. I learnt from hard lessons..

Hope these tips can help you pack in a way for a short trip, and wish you all are having a great day, if you are packing for a trip, enjoy your holiday!
